Second Conference Day

The Finnish Rotaract group presented this gem of a dance/song.
We were also treated to a performance of Finnish dancing.

The 29 different Rotary Exchange Students. They came from all over, America, Canada, Mexico, Chile, France, Belgium, Australia, Japan, Thailand, Brazil and a few more. They had to give presentations about the differences between their own cultures and Finland (needless to say they were highly amusing).

One of many funny skits.

In case you ever wondered what a Finnish school meal looks like. Here it is! Bread, some cooked veggies, boiled wheat and meat sauce, a cabbage leaf wrapped around veggies (normally with meat but in this case vegetarian) and salad (iceberg lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes and this time black olives).

Minnie's agility training this afternoon. Minnie is incredibly enthusiastic!! She is so happy to jump over fences, run thru tunnels etc. And Vili, my host brother gets the chance to teach her what to do.
I also was able to see a video of Milla's synchronized ice skating. It was incredible impressive, lots of pin wheel routines and skating with arms linked. She is very talented!

Jari told me about these new cars, about the size of smart cars they work on a scooter motor and can be driven by 16 year olds. They are a little controversial and have a hefty price tag.

Dessert! Lactose free ice cream and cloud berries. Apparently a northern Finnish berry (which grows beside swamps), Jari was very nostalgic about having them. It was very tasty!
