An authentically lovely and memorable Departure Dinner at Il Fornaio

On March 15, District 5320 Governor for 2012-2013 (and proudly biased to state Member/2001-2002 Club President of Rotary Club of Orange, my sponsoring club), Jim Lorman, Jr.* invited the Finland GSE team to an April 1. 2013 6:30pm dinner at Il Fornaio, an authentic Italian restaurant in Irvine, CA along with a few other District 5320 Rotarians.

The night of April 1 began with a secluded VIP table slightly past the kitchen area where most patrons are not allowed.  But Jim, having last held the title of Senior Vice President of Operations for the Irvine Company, had frequented Il Fornaio enough to know the staff and managers quite well because the Irvine Company owns Il Fornaio's land lease.

The night remained true to its agenda of being a meal with friends just to relax and enjoy.  The meal and desserts (see picture below) were scrumptious, and the company even better!  I sincerely enjoyed getting to know Jim on a more personal level and look forward to more of such as well as with my fellow teammates Dani, Teresa, and Weiping; Team Leader Steve Kuykendall; and other Rotarians Ken Montgomery, Tito Parola, and Roger McGonegal.
